A filmet Guillaume Cagniard készítette a francia képzőművész, JR „A nők hősök” című projektjének utolsó állomásáról. A projekt tisztelgés azok előtt a nők előtt, akik fontos szerepet töltenek be a társadalomban, ugyanakkor háborúk, bűnözés, erőszak, politikai és vallási ideológiák áldozatai. A 363 méter hosszú konténerszállító hajó Le Havre kikötőjéből indult útjára Malajziába, rajta a dokkmunkások közreműködésével 10 nap alatt felragasztott 2600 fotóval.
The film is a collaboration of Guillaume Cagniard and French artist, JR, recording the final stage of the project “Women Are Heroes”, which was created to pay tribute to those who play an essential role in society, but who are the primary victims of war, crime, rape or political and religious fanaticism. 363-meter long ship left the Port of le Havre, France to cross the world all the way to Malaysia. 2600 strips of paper were pasted in only 10 days on the containers with the dockers of the port.

MASS is a 10 minutes single take video-dance shot in Paris. The project was framed within the Danse en Seine’s choreographic workshops, including 40 amateur dancers. Images of the crowd appear more and more often and symbolize the current upheavals all over the world, evoking alternately parties, migrations of refugees, manifestations, religious gatherings or just the daily life of big cities. We thus work on the mass, with all the drunkenness and horror it can inspire. We confront the individual with crowd movements, in order to observe how he resists or let immerse himself.

A füst illékony és mágikus esztétikummal ruházza fel a teret, megelőlegezve annak jövőbeni, műtárgyakat és művészeti projekteket befogadó funkcióját. Tanúi lehetünk egy átalakuló térnek, melynek végleges formája még nem ismert.
Throughout this exploration of smoke sculptures created by cloud chasers, (LA)HORDE seeks to give shape to a latent moment within the Foundation’s transition. The smoke occupies the space with a volatile and magical aesthetic, exploring its potential to welcome artworks and artistic projects in development. It bears witness to a space in mutation, whose shapes are not yet defined. The cloud chaser’s posture, a new generation smoker, embodies an active expectation which gives rise to an artistic exploration and emphasizes that the Fondation d’entreprise Galeries Lafayette already exists, and that pieces are created within it. This film wishes to be a surprising and unexpected response to Lafayette Anticipation’s commission, offering a radical gesture stemming from a different kind of dance and questioning of spaces for creation.

A monotonous silence envelops a group of men and women who are each standing still in front of their houses in a residential area. As the camera moves among them, they fall, one by one, in a random pattern. Their collapses are clearly irrevocable. The movement of the performers from immobility to choreographed descents is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Dance Macabre from the Middle Ages. The film questions the fatality of the human body and our individual and collective responsibilities in our complex time.

A nézői perspektíva tologatása, a zene és a mozdulatok összecsengése, a szereplők és a kamera koreográfiája. Az egy nap alatt felvett táncfilmben számos filmes, táncos, zenész tehetség dolgozott együtt. Kate Mara és Ansel Elgort mellett az American Ballet Theater nyolc tagja, három HipLet Ballerinas, a YouTube sztár, Kandi Reign, és a Bulletrun Parkour három tagja.
The new short film, which was shot in one day, features an eclectic mix of talent from the worlds of cinematography, music, choreography, dance, and film. Alongside Elgort and Mara, rag & bone tapped eight members of the American Ballet Theater, three HipLet Ballerinas, YouTube sensation Kandi Reign, and three members of Bulletrun Parkour. Benjamin Millepied co-directed the new rag & bone Films production alongside Aaron Duffy and Bob Partington as well as celebrated cinematographer Darius Khondji to explore the medium of film while shifting perspectives for the viewer. The track overlay, produced exclusively for rag & bone by Thom Yorke creates a feeling of friction, which is paralleled by the movement of the cast of characters. Khondji worked closely with camera rig veteran, Tony Hill to deliver a film which seamlessly choreographs not only the dancers and actors featured, but also the cameras used.
