A gáláns Indiák | Les Indes Galantes | The Amorous Indies | FR | 2018 | 05:46

“A gáláns Indiák” opera-balettet 1735-ben írta Jean Philippe Rameau, akit egy 1723-ban, Párizsban látott indián törzsi táncelőadás inspirált. Clément Cogitore a balett egy részletét dolgozta fel a Los angelesi fekete gettó Krump stílusában. A törzsi tánc és a Krump lázadása egyaránt életre keltik Rameau librettóját.

Les Indes Galantes is an opera-ballet created by Jean Philippe Rameau in 1735. He was inspired for one of the dance by tribal Indian dances performed in Paris in 1723. Clément Cogitore adapts a short part of the ballet by mobilizing a group of Krump dancers, an art form born in Los Angeles black ghetto in the 1990s. Both the tribal dance performed in Paris in 1723, and the rebellious Krump dancers shape a re-enactment of Rameau’s original libretto.

Hat hónapos tangó kurzus után a Brindisi börtön lakói az INTANGOUT film főszereplőivé váltak. A tangó gyökerei szolgáltak a film inspirációjául, ami most összeolvad a börtönléttel, a férfiak börtönével. Egy pillanatra felszínre tör az érzelmesség is.

After attending a 6 month Tango course, the prisoners of the Brindisi District Office are the protagonists of the video art dance INTANGOUT inspired by the origins of Tango, when they danced among lonely men, highlighting the similarities that unite the Tango to the condition of life of a prisoner, to his life in prison, in the male section, projected “sentimentally” out of necessity dances with another man. Hybrid dance of hybrid people, the tango feeds on friction and victimism.

The contemporary short dance film originates from a dialogue between the camera and the moving body generated by the rhythm of breathing which expresses the sense of the body. The act of breathing arises from silence, and goes from the outside to the inside, from the inside to the outside, in a ceaseless pulsating movement. It is a breath of life endowing
our body with soul and intellect.

A szent és profán között egyensúlyozik Aïsha Devi és a lázadó kínai művész, Tianzhou Chen koprodukciója. A film számos referenciát vonultat fel, úgy mint a kínai vallás, a japán butoh, a vogueing, a divatvilág. A svájci születésű nepáli-tibeti Aïsha Devi találkozik a szádhu ritualizmus, a mágia és androgén istenség színházával.

Balancing the sacred and the profane, Devi’s new video in collaboration with rebellious Chinese artist Tianzhou Chen mixes colourful, mythical and natural imagery. Devi says: “Luxury is prosaic, lux is atomic.” Rich with references to Chinese religion, Butoh, vogueing, and the world of fashion, the trance mantras of Swiss-born, Napalese-Tibetan artist Aïsha Devi meet a rave-like theatre of sadhu ritualism, magic and androgynous deities.

“Szabadúszó programozóként dolgozom egy IT cégnek, ahol senki sem sejti, hogy filmeket rendezek. A forgatókönyvíró középiskolai zenetanár, a vágó egy McDonald’s-ban dolgozik Barcelona belvárosában. Diego, a film főszereplője, pedig csak egy átlagos biztonsági őrnek tűnik.” – Juanjo Giménez PEÑA, a film rendezője.

Luna and Diego are the parking lot security guards. Diego does the night shift, and Luna works by day.

“I work as a free-lance programmer for an IT corporation. Nobody there knows that I direct films. The script writer teaches music in a secondary school. The editor serves Big Macs in Barcelona city center. Diego, the main character of ‘Timecode’, seems to be only a typical security guard.” – Juanjo Giménez PEÑA

Egy cipő sokat elárul viselőjéről. A formája, az anyaga és az állapota betekintést enged társadalmi rangunkba, személyiségünkbe, és nem utolsósorban vágyainkba. A film ezekre a többrétegű jelentéstartalmakra utal a “lábbeli” fogalmának átértelmezésével. A művész igencsak karakteres mozgó alkatrészekkel látta el design cipőit, hogy megszülessen a történet a mozgásban.

It is no secret that shoes say a lot about the person wearing them. The shoe´s form, material and condition provide insight into social status, character, and, last but not least, potential desires. In Down to Earth, Anna Vasof refers to this multifunctional significance while putting a very particular spin on the concept of “footwear”. After all, the artist fabricated highly distinctive mechanical devices for each of her 28 shoe designs, some of which set entire stories in motion upon walking.
